The Anabaptist Movement: Its Religious and Family Roots in Switzerland

Peter Dettwiler

  • 500

It is understandable for U.S. citizens whose ancestors immigrated from Europe to inquire about their family roots. People want to know where they come from. For American Anabaptists, the search for their family roots is closely linked to the religious heritage of their ancestors, many of whom came from Switzerland. The author traces the history of the Anabaptist movement and describes a few selected families with Swiss roots, including Dettwiler, Landis, Hershey, and Zook. (34pp. full-color illus. Author, 2026.)

The Anabaptist Movement

Although short, was very well written and informative. Glad I purchased it.

Excellent story

THE ANABAPTIST MOVEMENT is an excellent story of the religious problems in Switzerland and the immigration of the Anabaptist people to America. There are very nice pictures throughout the book which greatly help tell the story. The book is only 30 pages long so it can be read in one sitting unless you get really interested in the story and have to stop to think about it like I did. I recommend this little book.
