This is a map of the area of Union and Snyder Counties, PA, published before Union was split into two counties.  It shows the proposed division line and new townships along with other standard map features of the time - towns, roads, mountains and waterways.  It also shows the locations of landmarks, the locations of a few prominent citizens, churches.  Snyder County was officially recognized in early 1855, putting the date of this map likely the year prior.
